  • I saw 'The Vicar Of Dibley' in Dec 2016 - twice! Absolutely loved it. The cast were perfect - from the way they looked visually to the way they spoke audibly. The sets looked amazing, too.Such a terrific show! Such a terrific show!

  • I love a night out here in Upper Gully ...great performances, quaint building and art space, lovely atmosphere, friendly kind staff....and the drink on arrival and nibblies after the show is such a lovely touch...really can't wait for next year's program to be released.

  • This was an outstanding production! Somehow it was even funnier than the well known TV production. All actors played their parts beautifully! I really think you could present this year after year and we, the audience, would not tire from it. Laughter is the best medicine and it certainly did me a lot of good. Well done!

  • What a wonderful experience ! Loved everything about the evening from the free parking, quality free program, sherry on arrival, opportunity to view the photographic exhibition beforehand, chilled water at interval (not served from plastic - thank you!), delicious supper & OJ at the close of the evening, the special touch of audience participation and that's even before mentioning the outstanding set, terrific performance and reasonable ticket price. Well done, once again, from an appreciative audience member.

  • It was our first time at the 1812 and we purchased tix for our family and my Dad for his 70th birthday. As HUGE fans of the vicar (I met Dawn French earlier this year!) I was not expecting anything too special to be honest. But we were all blown away by the production, the set, the professionalism and the frivolity of the night! To top it off, the supper was awesome. We did not actually have anything to eat as we had eaten dinner before the show but there was such a lovely selection. The immerse photo project was there too which just topped off our night! Fabulous job to everyone! Thanks for making the theatre accessible to all!

  • Swamp Fox Productions and cast and crew of 'Strands' made this playwright extremely happy. I loved the production. What a team! The actors were sublime. And the Bakery@1812 is now one of my favourite Theatre spaces. Thanks so much for your bravery and commitment to producing great nights out. Will be back.

  • I brought a girlfriend along as I had been told by some friends how good the performance was. We were not disappointed, it was funny, the sound was very good, our seats were in the gallery and we could see the stage very well. Could not get over the complimentary supper and drinks - this is a credit to the 1812 theatre/volunteers, heard lots of people as we mingled saying the same.

  • First time to the 1812 Theatre and it was nothing short of fabulous. Charming venue and lovely staff who provided us with a perfect night out. The play was enthralling and the actors and actresses were brilliant and funny. Will be back for more in the future!

  • We always have dinner at the Royal beforehand, then stroll up to the theatre. It feels like being part of a huge family when we enter the doors. The welcoming smiles, not only from 1812 staff but the theatregoers as well, always lifts the spirits and our enthusiasm for the play we are about to be presented with.

  • I have been attending the major theatres in Melbournes city for many years. Unfortunately, their ticket prices have increased ridiculously high, so last year we have decided to give local theatre a try and all l can say is why did l not discover this sooner. So what I'm saying is that l am so impressed with the productions l have seen so far that l can not think of anything that needs improving. From the theatre to the cast and to the staff and volunteers all is top class. More people need to make the switch like me.

  • This theatre is a gem at the foothills of The Dandenongs. The productions are excellent and the pre show drinks and post show supper are a treat.
