Characters
Letetia Blacklock: F 50-60 Prim, proper, efficient and practical. Reserved and seemingly in control.
Julia Simmons: F 25-35 Witty and sharp-tongued. Impatient and prone to jealousy.
Dora Bunner: F 55- 65. Slightly older than Miss Blacklock. More scattered and vague. Forgetful, easily confused.
Mitzi: F 25-35. Nervous, slightly paranoid. Unpredictable and moody.
Miss Marple: F 60-70. Older than the other women. Quietly spoken but shrewd and very perceptive.
Phillipa Haymes: F 25- 35. Tall, elegant. Serious. Wisdom born of life experience.
Mrs Swettenham: f 55- 65. The nosy neighbour who visits on a pretext after seeing the announcement.
Edward Swettenham: Male 25- 35, Dark, foreign-looking. Introverted and somewhat embarrassed by his mother’s behaviour.
Rudi Scherz: M 25-40. Swiss accent
Inspector Craddock: M 50-60. Detail-oriented, observant and persistent. Initially dismissive of Miss Marple.
Sergeant Mellors: M 25-35. Diligent, typical country policeman.
